About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled BI Developer to join our Data Analytics Team. The ideal candidate will support the team in developing and maintaining reports and dashboards, ensuring data quality before release. This role involves creating, reviewing, and monitoring requirement documents and visual displays of reports and dashboards, collaborating with business owners and subject matter experts, and creating necessary documentation to support annual upgrades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Data Analytics Team in developing and maintaining reports and dashboards to ensure data quality before release.
- Create, review, and monitor requirement documents and visual displays of reports and dashboards.
- Collaborate with business owners and subject matter experts to clarify requirements and complete user acceptance testing.
- Create documentation needed to support repeatability of annual upgrades.
- Analyze and interpret business requirements and design into Tableau or Power BI solutions.
- Perform unit, system, and performance testing.
- Produce status reports and communicate the status of projects on a regular basis.
- Manage multiple priorities and meet project delivery dates.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of users and teammates.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience developing in Tableau or Power BI, developing dashboards, reports, and framework.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, Business Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. (Relevant experience of 5+ years may be substituted for a degree.)
- Experience working with Azure SQL Database.
- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- K–12 education experience is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in using computers and peripheral equipment.
- Creative and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of Data Warehousing principles, concepts, and architecture.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project delivery dates.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate the work of a team with other units within the Department of Research, Assessment, and Accountability and other BCPS offices, schools, and departments.
