Job Summary:
This role will be a key partner to the VP, Operations in establishing a new process for Conventus to ensure that all loan files and related documentation meet the company's quality standards and were underwritten to our company guidelines. This role involves performing thorough reviews, identifying discrepancies, and recommending corrective actions to maintain the integrity of our lending processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the VP, Operations to set up a process where we establish a QA/QC function of our loan files
- Work with VP, Operations to set up a feedback loop on findings
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of loan files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and guidelines.
- Identify and document discrepancies, errors, and areas of non-compliance in loan files & work with VP of Ops and Strategic Initiatives on training opportunities or guidelines revisions
- Collaborate with loan officers, underwriters, and other relevant staff to resolve identified issues and discrepancies.
- Develop and implement quality control checklists and guidelines to standardize the review process.
- Maintain detailed records of quality control findings and corrective actions taken.
- Assist in developing and updating QA/QC policies and procedures to enhance overall quality and efficiency.
- Provide training and support to staff on quality assurance and quality control best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and changes to ensure ongoing changes to guidelines
- Establish a cadence of preparing regular reports on QA/QC activities, findings, and trends for management review in partnership with the VP
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in quality assurance, quality control, or Underwriter within the financial services industry, preferably in lending.
- Strong understanding of lending processes, regulations, and documentation requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using quality control software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
