Project Manager
Job Summary:
National Public Safety Group is seeking to hire an experienced Project Manager to work in a high demand environment leading projects for our public safety software customers. This role is responsible for the overall planning, directing, and coordination of project activities and resources for our clients. This role is responsible for managing interactions between different client departments, as well as liaison between the software vendors and 3rd party vendors. As a Project Manager, you must operate effectively with little supervision, while maintaining a high professional standard. This role must ensure that the needs of customers are fully met throughout the project life cycle.

National Public Safety Group is a unique concierge consulting firm that solely consults for public safety software projects. The team at NPSG is highly skilled and experienced in the procurement and implementation of public safety software solutions to include Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management Systems, Jail Management Systems, and Mobile Data Systems. NPSG does a tremendous amount of research on the providers, compiling data on those providers so that our customers make educated decisions throughout the process of procuring and implementing software. NPSG also provides a subject matter expert for each part of a project, so that our customers are always working with an expert. For these reasons, it is a must that the candidate has considerable experience in public safety software implementations. This PM will also be working in an area where we have multiple ongoing projects, so the candidate will come into a very busy position.
Job Duties:
- Monitor project scope, determine action items, assign ownership, create project timetables, and track execution and workflow.
- Track and communicate project progress from a schedule, cost, and risk perspective to the project team, stakeholders, and management through executive meetings and status reports.
- Proactively manage communication throughout the project by setting regular conference calls and on-site visits to ensure client satisfaction
- Schedule calls with software vendors and all third-party vendors to identify interface requirements.
- Review and recommend approval of software invoices as requested by the Client
- Present at Stakeholder Meetings.
- Manage progress of data conversions to ensure these processes are not going to delay the project
- Assist clients with creating change management plans to ensure project success
- Comfortably and effectively present to audiences at various sizes
- Maintain constant communication with clients keeping them informed of risks, impending changes, action items, milestones etc.
Key Qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience in Project Management specifically in public safety software projects
· B.A or B.S Degree
· Travel up to 70%
· Excellent verbal and written business communication skills
· Highly Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
· Highly Proficient with MS Project or similar project management software
· Experience with public safety/law enforcement customers/government agencies
· A PMI Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) is a plus
