As the Investigations Support Specialist in the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) within the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), you will provide professional administrative and office support, case management process development and support, and technical assistance to the newly established Special Investigative Unit (SIU) and the existing Student Maltreatment Program (SMP). Duties will include:
- Assist in development and management of the SIU and SMP intake assessment and investigation processes of highly sensitive and complex reports and complaints;
- Develop processes for, maintain the data integrity of, and complete data entry in multiple case management systems;
- Establish, draft and implement program procedures;
- Comply with statutory requirements under the new OIG statute and the SMP program;
- Communicate program functions and authority with internal staff and external constituents.
2 years of paraprofessional, clerical or technical experience in a related field
OR
A bachelor's degree and 1 year of paraprofessional, clerical or technical experience in a related field
Experience must include:
- Skill in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and MS Teams)
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively organize work, develop and follow procedures and directions
- Communications and human relations sufficient to interact effectively with supervisor staff, co-workers, and the public, including the application of de-escalation strategies
- Experience working with case management systems;
- Experience developing process and procedures related to investigations and/or managing cases;
- Ability to identify and interpret program requirements, policies, or regulations;
- Skills in using computer databases and software programs, for example Minnesota Government Access (MGA), Agile Apps, Lexis Nexis;
- Experience working with investigations or records management with a law office or a law enforcement entities;
- Ability to speak multiple languages.
