Parx Home Healthcare, formerly known as Mihom Healthcare Inc., is seeking a friendly and experienced Home Health Director to join our team. The Director of Operations ensures the quality and safe delivery of home health care services. This role coordinates services that align with the Agency's philosophy and standards of care. Additionally, the Director plans, develops, implements, and evaluates Agency services, programs, and activities. If the Director is a registered nurse (RN), they are always available during operating hours or appoint a similarly qualified alternate. They also actively participate in all activities related to professional services provided, including personnel qualification and assignment development.
Responsibilities
- Plans and directs operations to ensure the provision of adequate and appropriate care and services
- Implements an effective budgeting and accounting system; assures accuracy for billing procedures
- Maintains compliance with applicable federal, state, accrediting bodies, and local rules and regulations
- Participates in developing objectives for the Agency and ensures their implementation
- Supervises all business affairs
- Develops, implements, and evaluates financial policies and procedures and records
- Recruits employees and retains qualified personnel to maintain appropriate staffing levels
- Plans and arranges for consultation needs of staff; prepares and maintains current policies and procedures which meet Medicare, Medicaid, accrediting bodies, state, etc. laws and implements such; revises concurrently.
- Ensures staff development including orientation, in-service education, and continuing education
- Coordinates with other program areas and management as appropriate
- Oversees the Agency's ongoing performance improvement (PI) program
Requirements
- Required to be a licensed physician, a registered nurse, or hold an undergraduate degree.
- Demonstrated ability in or application of organizational/communication skills
- Three to five years of experience in health care/home care preferred
- Two years' experience in a supervisory position preferred
- Knowledge and ability to apply community health principles and practices
- Knowledge of Agency policies and procedures
- Ability to supervise, guide and develop skills and performance of service personnel
- Ability to exercise independent judgment
- Ability to work with individuals
- Ability to enlist cooperation of many people in furthering a program
- Ability to assist in evaluating personnel a minimum of one time per year
- Monitors probationary period for new employees
- Ability to deal effectively with high levels of stress
- Possesses passion and genuine concern for the well-being of patients and a commitment to provide compassionate care
