Responsibilities
- Lead the development of software solutions that are deployed to customers
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to turn needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints
- Write code to improve products and scale the forecasting capability to more customers
- Bring a willingness to learn new technologies in any area of the stack: UI, Backend Software Development, etc.
- Collaborate across multiple internal and external teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality
- Create and analyze metrics that are leveraged for testing and validation
- Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate next-steps
Required Qualifications
- Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in areas/fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
- 3+ years working with a variety of programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, Numpy, C, C++.
- Experience building software solutions involving significant amounts of data processing and analysis
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases
- A desire to work on critical software that has a real-world impact
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong engineering background with focus in Deep Learning Algorithms, Physical Modelization of Natural Processes, and/or Applied Mathematics.
- Developing and testing software for weather forecasting models and deploying in real-world environments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think creatively and innovate
- Bonus points for experience programming in Fortran
