Events Manager/Writer
The company
Launched in 2010, Palisades Media Ventures (PMV) is a Washington, DC-based thought leadership company that develops and manages the Longevity Project, a public engagement information project co-created with the Stanford Center on Longevity, that focuses on aging and longevity, and how to create a longer-lived society that is healthier, more productive and gives everyone a chance at longer life. Among other activities, PMV develops and manages major conferences such as the Century Summit and Healthy Aging 50+, the award-winning Century Lives podcast, newsletters on longevity and healthy aging, and a full complement of virtual events.
This is a full-time position reporting to PMV President and CEO Ken Stern
Key responsibilities:
–Develop and produce company, product and event content for the website, social media accounts and other platforms
-Write and edit newsletters, including “Three Not-So-Bad Things About Aging and Longevity”
–Produce virtual and in-person panels, conferences and other events
–Liaison with corporate sponsors and funders
–Oversee logistics for the annual conferences
–Other projects as assigned
Skills and experience:
–1-5 years experience, with preference for experience in event management, writing, or aging issues
–Undergraduate degree preferred
–Proven experience as content strategist for multiple channels
–Strong verbal and written communication skills
–Comfortable working with database software, website and social media management, video conferencing, MS Office
–Self-starter who enjoys juggling and completing multiple projects with varying deadlines
–Team player with a sense of humor
Hiring details
This is a remote position but the employee must be based in the USA. Start date is ASAP. Salary is $50-60k depending on experience. PMV also provides $250/month for insurance premiums or medical expenses and three weeks’ paid time off per year.
