Graphic Designer

Buildable Companies is seeking a Graphic Design professional to be our visual storyteller that engages, informs, and inspires. This position takes concepts and ideas and creates visual representations, in both print and electronic media forms. The ideal candidate will have expert level creativity, knowledge of current design software, and skilled in every step of the design process from concept to deliverable. The Buildable Companies’ graphic designer is a unique opportunity to collaborate across all Buildable Companies and multiple internal and external teams. This role must be able to take written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects while working with in established brand guidelines.

The Buildable Companies are a family of complimentary companies focused on supporting the hospitality industry. Our primary focus is offering fractional facility and development management to enterprise and emerging hospitality brands. We are also developing additional concepts to be deployed in the Triangle and Detroit area. As a Buildable Companies’ employee, this position works with all brands under direct supervision of the Brand Designs and Marketing Manager and Executive Leadership Team.

What you will do:

Work on a wide range of projects and media, using various software programs to visualize and develop innovative graphic designs that meet business goals
Obtain input from team members to ensure that designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the company appropriately
Work independently as well as cooperatively with marketing team to meet deadlines, stay within budget, and schedule project implementation based on workload, which may include five or more simultaneous projects
Examine existing processes, identify flaws, and create solutions that improve design capabilities
Update and maintain internal databases for designs, photography, and video
Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple teams or clients on a wide range of materials that may include web pages, presentations, programming collateral, signage, internal communications, newsletters, and marketing materials
Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within an established brand identity
Develop concepts by hand or with software, and execute original content by determining the ideal usage of color, text, font style, imagery, and layout
Manage the design and uploading process for all project materials, based on best practices for using a content management system
Use trend intelligence and knowledge of historical and current markets when designing and executing specific classifications

Your Qualifications:

Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills
Possess superior writing, editing and digital communications skills.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Proficiency in graphics software including Adobe Creative Suite and Acrobat
Familiarity with social media campaigns and visual marketing
Able to work on your own and in a diverse team and personalities, both internally and externally.
Demonstrate ability to work effectively under pressure deadlines and shifting priorities
Proficient photography and videography skills.
