The Senior Project Director plays a key role in the strategic planning and execution of the company, leading and overseeing multiple key projects to ensure that they are completed on time, on budget, and to quality, and that they achieve the desired business outcomes. The position is required to operate in a complex environment and needs to work closely with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to ensure projects are aligned with the company's strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management and Leadership:
Leads and manages the full lifecycle of the company's major projects, including project planning, execution, control and closeout phases.
Define project objectives, scope, resource requirements, timelines and budgets, and develop detailed project plans and execution strategies.
Strategic Planning and Implementation:
Work with the senior management team to understand the company's strategic objectives and translate them into specific projects and action plans.
Ensure that projects are aligned with the company's strategic vision and long-term goals, and drive business development and growth through project implementation.
Resource Management & Team Leadership:
Manage the project team, including the project manager and project team members, to ensure that the team works efficiently and collaborates, communicates well, and has sufficient resources to support project implementation.
Motivate and develop the project team to enhance team members' professional skills and project management capabilities.
Risk Management & Problem Solving:
Identify, assess and manage project risks and develop response strategies and contingency plans to ensure that projects are executed as planned.
Resolve complex issues and challenges in projects and make timely adjustments to project direction and strategy to ensure successful project delivery.
Reporting & Communication:
Provide regular reporting on project progress, costs and performance to senior management and stakeholders to ensure transparency and effective communication.
Ensure that project objectives and outcomes are understood by all stakeholders to support successful project delivery and acceptance.
Position Requirements:
Strong project management experience, particularly in the financial industry or related field.
Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to effectively motivate and coach project teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with a variety of stakeholders.
High level of analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to handle complex business issues and challenges.
Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Project Management or related field; Project Management Professional certification (e.g. PMP) preferred.
