Position Summary:
The role of the Director of Business Development is to lead Company’s sales and marketing function. This includes understanding Company’s overall business objectives and ensuring we are configured to meet or exceed those objectives now and in the future. Company elevates law firms' marketing reach using comprehensive services in brand messaging, creative marketing solutions, cross-platform campaigns and media acquisition.
Our attorney marketing experts strategize impactful campaigns that keep your firm top-of-mind among your target audience. This role will focus on law firms averaging $10-$30M in revenue either regionally or nationally, that include but not limited to medical malpractice, personal injury, and nursing home abuse. Service focused approach required for this marketing and strategy role.
Essential Functions:
Company Leadership and Strategy
Reinforce company values through exhibiting client obsession, creative thinking, results orientation, and kindness both internally and externally.
- Provide leadership to direct and indirect reports, including coaching, mentoring, and ongoing performance feedback. Create a culture of commitment-to-vision instead of compliance-to-rules – empowering team members to make the most of their skills and interests in the context of Company's business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with Operations teams to align strategies, communicate client insights, and drive service enhancements based on client feedback.
- Identify projects and products that uncover new opportunities for Company's core business.
- Establish KPIs and metrics to measure client success, monitor team performance, and report on key insights.
Sales & Marketing Strategy
- Collaborate with team members to define and represent Company’s brand identity and reputation within the market of potential clients.
- Enhance the sales and marketing infrastructure through analyzing market and territory potential, evaluating Company's capabilities and market position, define the most effective sales motion, and building departmental operating systems that organize and create visibility into progress.
- Identify strategic partnerships that may increase and/or accelerate deal flow.
Sales Operations – People/Process/Tech
- Prioritize prospect list building for effective outbound efforts.
- Design, implement, and monitor targeted outbound sales efforts campaigns to uncover new opportunities and unstick cold deals.
- Integrate with department heads to ensure seamless handoff for pitching, onboarding, and ongoing account management.
- Shepherd opportunities through the sales funnel from Discovery call to signed contract; manage internal resources, including Subject Matter Experts, to provide the necessary POV and collateral to effectively advance deals.
- Manage Hubspot Sales instance to best capture and manage sales activities that yield highest return on time and money invested.
Marketing Operations – People/Process/Tech
Manage Marketing Manager to align goals, strategies, and tactics for paid media, owned media, and earned media efforts with near-term and long-term sales objectives.
Product & Service Knowledge
- Stay informed about the company's products or services and industry trends. Services include website, online content, social media management, Google Paid Search, paid social media, YouTube, broadcast, cable, CTV, OOH, among other channels and technologies.
- Effectively communicate product and service features to potential clients.
Creative & Copy
- Collaborate with the Creative team to develop compelling ad copy, video assets, and other creative assets in support of sales objectives, as needed.
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:
- Executive Presence: Mastery in articulating complex ideas simply, negotiating terms, and fostering relationships at executive levels within Company and client organizations.
- Domain Expertise: experience defining, executing, measuring, and improving sales and marketing processes to ensure effective results.
- Technical Proficiency: familiarity with Hubspot, LinkedIn, Facebook Ads Manager, Google Analytics, and other relevant tools.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing complex data sets, deriving insights, and presenting comprehensive reports to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strategic Thinking: A mindset that reflects a knowledge of the greater business context, an ability to tie long-term goals to near-term actions for yourself and others, and a conviction in decision-making.
- Project Management: Overseeing multiple client projects simultaneously, ensuring they're on track, within budget, and meet client expectations. Possess a bias for action.
- Creative Instincts: a thoughtful point of view on creative matters related to copy, graphic design, or other relevant brand assets.
Education and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a senior sales & marketing role – focused on low volume, high-value, and solution-based deal dynamics. Preferably in an advertising agency, or similar professional services, environment.
- Established domain expertise in one or more of the following: Media Strategy, Media Planning, Media Buying, Paid Media Strategy, Paid Media Execution, and/or Website Development.
