Overview of the Biotechnology Analyst Role:
We are seeking a fundamental research analyst to join our team. Candidate must have buyside investment research experience covering therapeutics/biotechnology companies. Candidate will be responsible for identifying and researching investment opportunities (both long and short), monitoring companies/events, tracking market dynamics, reporting general economic and industry-specific developments and trends, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze and identify investment opportunities by interpreting complex medical, scientific and technical data (memos, checklists, and financial/scientific due diligence)
- Track and update portfolio company and industry news/events
- Manage internal valuation models, dashboards, and universe tracking
- Interface with investor relations, companies, KOL’s, conferences, roadshows, etc.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Undergraduate degree (relevant advanced degree is a plus)
- 5+ years hedge fund investment experience covering biotechnology/therapeutics companies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly pitch ideas
- Financial and data analysis, including financial statements and modeling, market and pricing estimates, and clinical data
- Professional, self-starter, collaborative, and strong attention to detail and process
