Position Summary
The Retail Analytics team is helping lead the effort to transform healthcare and drive improved consumer experience by partnering with key business areas across the business to deliver impactful analytic solutions and insights. As a member of the Analytics & Data Science team, you will be at the forefront of delivering high visibility analytic projects for key strategic priorities. Specifically, you will have the opportunity to drive revenue and customer satisfaction using advanced analytic solutions to optimize merchandising, pricing and promotion decisions. You will have the chance to solve complex problems, build predictive models and simulate impact of business decisions to improve customer experience.
We are a fast-paced team focused on building innovative analytic solutions using AI/ML and cloud capabilities. Within our team, we believe a cutting-edge AI product can only be delivered if every aspect of the solution from data to model to front end UI is fully designed and developed by SMEs within the team. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be part of a small team of data scientists to drive retail localization analytics, optimizing product assortment at the store level with the goal of driving profitability and meeting customer needs. We are looking for talented individuals who have a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and a desire to deliver high quality end to end intuitive and impactful analytic products using advanced data driven approaches.
Key responsibilities:
• Develop algorithms and statistical predictive models and determine analytic approaches and modeling techniques to support retail merchandising strategic priorities (e.g. assortment optimization, pricing analytics and promotions analytics)
• Build predictive models in statistical programming tools (Python, SAS, R) using advanced data science concepts (e.g. regression modeling, time series forecasting, data clustering, advanced machine learning techniques)
• Extract and manipulate data from multiple large data sources and use data to deliver predictive models that drive product assortment and increase profitability
• Analyze retail data using advanced statistical techniques to help develop benchmarks, optimization strategies and recommendations
• Partner with business stakeholders to evaluate business questions and propose analytical solutions that provide actionable insights on customer behavior and product assortment
• Prepare and participate in presentations to stakeholders on analytic results and recommendations
• Interact with internal and external vendor peers and leaders to exchange ideas
• Use strong knowledge in algorithms and predictive models to investigate problems, detect patterns and recommend solutions
• Use strong programming skills to explore, examine and interpret large volumes of data in various forms
Required Qualifications
• 4+ years of relevant experience working in analytics with a track record of delivering insights and business impact
• 4+ years of experience with advanced analytic techniques, such as predictive modeling and multivariate regression analysis
• 4+ years of expertise using data analysis, modelling and visualization tools such as Python, R, cloud-based ML Ops tech stack, SQL, and Tableau
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience
• Retail merchandising domain expertise including category management, assortment optimization, product clustering, product price sensitivity and promotion affinity evaluation, store clustering and localization
• Proficiency in latest cloud based front end and web development tool stack
• Demonstrates strong ability to communicate technical concepts and implications to business partners
• Anticipates and prevents problems and roadblocks before they occur
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• High levels of self-motivation and attention to detail
