Lemare is seeking a Project Coordinator to join our civil construction team. Build your career as a construction professional in this challenging role which is critical to project success. You will be joining a highly skilled and experienced team, constructing resource infrastructure in the mountains of British Columbia.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will provide onsite support to the superintendent, engineers, survey, and environmental team to ensure works are completed safely, while maintaining schedule and budget constraints.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Your primary responsibility is ensuring the construction program supports development and production outputs. You will oversee daily field activities and work with department managers, crew, subcontractors, and liaise between project sites and office management staff.
- Forward planning with environmental and engineering staff to ensure no gaps in production
- Assist with implementation of quality control, safety, and environmental programs
- Preparation of labour, cost reports, and progress tracking
- Preparation of daily and weekly site reports
- Liaise with client stakeholders including field staff and inspectors
- Maintain and organize site documents and manage electronic filing
- Monitor inventory of consumables (blast supplies, culverts, erosion and sediment control items)
- Daily tracking of equipment, labour and materials for submission to client
- Complete pre and post blast records and checklists
- Review drawings, specifications, and site plans
- Maintain project schedule
- Provide guidance and support for subcontractors (environmental labours and monitors, surveyors, and engineers) where needed
- Support the Construction Manager and Project Manager where needed.
Education and Experience Required:
- Post-secondary education - Diploma, or BSc Degree in Civil Engineering, Mine Technology, Mine Engineering, or Forestry
- Previous experience in Mining, Civil Construction, or Forestry.
Skills Required:
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong and effective communication skills both written and verbal for interface with clients and coworkers
- Strong work ethic and sets high standards of performance for self and others
- Strong understanding of MS Office
- Able to work in a team environment
- Experience with MS Projects an asset
- WSBC Level 1 First Aid an asset
Location:
The Project Coordinator will be involved with work at remote project sites throughout British Columbia. Lodging will be provided. This is a field-based position working outdoors in all weather conditions. Approximately 60% of time will be spent in a field office.
