Job Position: 1st Hire in Strategy and Operations (September start date)
About Us:
Alfred is a venture-backed early-stage B2B2C marketplace startup that connects hotels to local merchants in the neighborhood. We provide hotels the tool to better monetize their guests on property and deliver a more comprehensive guest experience without increasing their budget. Local merchants are able to tap into a captive and consistent audience in nearby hotel rooms to bolster outside demand.
Our vision is to turn cities into resorts by connecting guests to the city around them. Through aggregating the guest data, we seek to utilize AI / personalization to anticipate and curate guest needs every time they travel.

Role Overview: This is an unique role to be the first hire in the Strategy & Operations org, which is critical in driving Alfred’s growth and operational excellence by developing and executing strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience with a previous background in investment banking or consulting and S&O at another startup. This is an unique chance to work extremely closely with repeat founders who have scaled a 9-digit business in the space previously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with senior leadership to define and execute Alfred’s strategic initiatives and business objectives
- Build process and infrastructure to drive company objectives and navigate through ambiguity. Need to be comfortable with putting out fires and changing priorities.
- Develop growth strategies to acquire hotel rooms / merchants more efficiently as well as work with product to monetize each room in a deeper way
- Work cross-functionally across teams and departments to reach our goals. Communicate, collaborate, and drive alignment across product, engineering, sales, customer and guest success
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to optimize business performance.
- Lead and support special projects and initiatives as needed, including but not limited to investor presentations, accounting, customer / market research etc.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, strategy & operations at an early – mid stage startup
- Comfortable in navigating through ambiguity and changing priorities – typical nature of early stage hypergrowth startups
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and drive decision-making.
- Experience managing complex projects and driving high-level goals into actionable plans. Enjoys implementing process.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Expeienced at Excel (basic financial modeling) and SQL knowledge is a bonus
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
