The Role
Our business is booming, and we are looking for an experienced Resume Writer to join our resume team as an Independent Contractor with the potential to grow into more significant roles. Initially, you will be responsible for drafting the first copies of career achievements collected from our clients to create resumes, biographies, cover letters, and job description deconstructions. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn about the unique field of executive transition, gain valuable insight into a wide range of senior and C-suite level professions and industries, and directly support innovators from a variety of industries.
Responsibilities
As a Resume Writer, you will work closely with, and be mentored by the Jackson Stevens Managing Director. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Gaining insight into Jackson Stevens’ unique approach to resume writing and career documentation development.
- Working collaboratively with team members during the training and revising process involved with drafting client career documentation.
- Crafting resumes with professional level formatting, grammar, and targeted content ensuring accuracy and strategic phrasing of responsibilities and accomplishments.
- Writing compelling and competitive content for resumes, biographies, and cover letters, ensuring they meet Jackson Stevens’ standards.
- Conducting research on our client’s potential employers to determine how the company operates and its hiring needs.
- Maintenance of records related to client career and achievement documentation.
- Working collaboratively with the Project Manager to update documentation related to resume development SOPs and Best Practices.
Qualifications
Jackson Stevens will not be providing the Resume Writer with the use of company hardware, though they will have access to all company software. To be eligible for this position, the candidate must have the following:
- Demonstrated experiences in business writing with specific experience writing resumes, cover letters, and other business documents.
- Access to a computer with reliable internet access and the following software:
Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, for drafting materials.
Dropbox, Zoom, Slack, and Wrike for team collaboration.
- A detail-oriented and self-motivated work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- 20-30 flexible hours per week
- Demonstrated typing skills above 75 words per minute with accuracy.
- Excellent professional-level written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated high proficiency of the English language.
