VALID Systems seeks a Project Manager/Business Analyst with a concentration in Jira Administration to join the IT Project Management Office. This position will report directly to the Senior Project Manager and work with the Technology, BI, and Risk teams within VALID Systems.
You will work with other teammates and across teams to define requirements, elicit dependencies, and document project milestones, issues, and risks. You will administer Jira Software and ITSM projects & manage change requests according to ITIL standards and provide proof during audit season. You will utilize SQL to evaluate client data during on-boarding and/or client issues to determine if there is an issue, where the issue is, the scope of the issue, and work with various teams on a solution. The solution will be documented, and work requests will be created for the various teams to action.
VALID Systems is a data-driven company; the statistics and business intelligence at the data level drive our success. Backend systems utilize the Microsoft platform and development stack, both on-premises and in Cloud, as well as Snowflake and machine learning models. This position will be heavily involved in our core risk decisioning business and will be involved in the facilitating the deployment of machine learning models onto prediction servers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Analyzing business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs
- Planning, overseeing and leading projects from ideation through to completion
- Leveraging IT Solutions whenever possible
- Administering Atlassian products with a focus on Atlassian cloud products
- Using, implementing, integrating, maintaining, configuring, and customizing instances of Jira Cloud, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence
- Developing custom configuration and automation for Jira and Confluence, such as Jira workflows, schemes, custom fields, screens, notifications, permissions, queues etc.
- Leading and following large IT project execution from Business Requirements to Production, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across various departments, acting as a liaison between the business and IT Steering Committee
- Educate and act as an advocate for IT Service Management practices
- Participate in audits and compliance
- Utilize SQL for data analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting purposes.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure successful execution of Waterfall and Agile development practices.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between development teams, product owners, and business stakeholders.
- Assist in the refinement and prioritization of product backlogs, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
Candidate Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience. Experience could include IT Business Partner, Project Management, Business Analyst or other related experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Project management skills:
- Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies.
- Knowledge of ITIL methodology
- Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures and software across various technologies. Translating complex business requirements into IT roadmaps and execution plans.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of leading and guiding cross-functional teams with confidence.
- Proficiency in Waterfall and Agile methodologies, capable of assuming the role of product owner.
Business Analyst skills:
- Experience with the setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of Jira projects, boards, workflows, issue types, screens, custom fields, etc. for small to medium sized Jira environments (e.g., with 30 to 50 users)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions that meet business needs.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and experience working across business stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver outcome.
- Demonstrable experience in a Technical Business Analyst role, with a preference for backgrounds in the financial sectors.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, proven through extensive experience with complex data analysis.
- Skilled in JIRA Service Management & Confluence
- A consultant's mindset, adaptable and eager to acquire new skills.
