Liberation Journeys’ goal is to support schools in their efforts to center student voice and racial justice by co-creating solutions to their most pressing school culture challenges and ensuring students play an active role in the school’s decision making and develop skills for disrupting institutional racism and inequity.
While school districts across the country have taken strides to incorporate more culturally inclusive curriculum and implement equity-driven initiatives, a more radically student-centered approach to addressing the effects of deeply ingrained systemic racism is required. The Opportunity
We are seeking to hire a self-starter as an Executive Assistant. Someone who is an adaptive problem solver, has excellent time management skills, and maintains strong attention to detail. This individual should also have strong written and verbal communication skills as they will oftentimes be the mouthpiece for the organization, and the right hand of the Executive Director.
The Executive Assistant will primarily be responsible for the management of logistics for the programming workshops, webinars, and events that Liberation Journeys puts on. They will also be focused on the creation of social media content, sharing social media content, and drafting of basic organizational communications (e.g. newsletters and email notifications to program participants and/or applicants). The role will report directly to the Executive Director.

What You Will Do
Internal and External Communications
- Draft and manage emails and reports on behalf of the organization.
- Articulate ideas clearly in phone calls and virtual meetings.
- Light proofreading and document editing skills.
Administrative Duties
- Scheduling, managing calendars, setting up meetings and appointments.
- Assist the Executive Director in managing and tracking deliverables and deadlines, ensuring timely completion and effective prioritization of tasks.
- Booking and coordinating all travel-related expenses.
Social media
- Posting new content and engaging with potential customers on social media platforms.
- Using provided templates and content ideas to draft content for review prior to posting.
Program Support
- Schedule meetings and send communications to teachers, school leaders, and district leaders.
- Provide operations support for a teacher fellowship and multiple student fellowships during the upcoming school year.

- Minimum of 2 years of direct experience assisting a C-Suite Executive.

- Strong communicator with excellent written, presentation, oral communications and interpersonal skills.

- Software Skills Desired – Google Suite; Asana; Canva; ChatGPT; MailChimp; Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel.
