Reference and Circulation Coordinator
Salary Range: $15 to $19 per hour

Position Overview
This position requires a general knowledge of all academic library functions, and experience in the areas of Reference and Circulation. Coordinator must be comfortable in a teaching/training role and able to implement library policies and protocols. Must be able to maintain an environment conducive to study.
Major Responsibilities
Reference
Manage library reference/circulation desk as needed and oversee student worker activity
Teach library patrons how to use databases and technology
Provide reference and research consultations
Oversee patron email/telephone inquiries
Assist and train student workers in reference
Circulation
Troubleshoot technology (printers, computers, copiers)
Oversee Interlibrary Loans
Supervise library stacks maintenance
Oversee patron interaction, including collection of fines
Oversee the mailing of resources to patrons
Provide circulation stats reports
Organizational Relationships
Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Library Services, and must assume responsibility of library functions upon Library Director absence. Coordinator will supervise student worker activity and special projects.
Qualifications
· Faith, service, and lifestyle that meets University expectations (See IPM sections: “Statement of Core Values,” “Doctrinal Statement,” “Christian Standards,” “Lifestyle Standard.”)
Preferred, holding or seeking a Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution
Preferred, 2 years’ experience in an academic library setting
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proficient in circulation software (i.e. OCLC) and Microsoft products
Ability to interact with colleagues/patrons in a cooperative spirit of teamwork
