Position Overview:
The role of Physician: Obesity Specialist is a full-time, remote role for an obesity specialist. We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable medical professional to join our team and provide expertise in the area of obesity and weight management for Ivim Health’s Health and Wellness programs. As an obesity specialist with Ivim Health, you will be responsible for educating and training healthcare providers on the management and treatment of obesity, reviewing clinical and analytical data sets on weight management programs, developing educational materials for patients and caregivers, understanding obesity medication options include both brand name and patient-specific compounded formularies, providing consultation and support to healthcare teams, support Ivim Health’s social media and marketing programs, as well as providing virtual consultations with Ivim Health patients.

Key Responsibilities:
Patient Evaluation and Management:
- Conduct thorough medical evaluations to assess the physical and psychological health of patients wanting to undergo weight management therapy
- Develop and implement comprehensive management plans, incorporating nutritional, behavioral, and pharmacological approaches to optimize overall health
- Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient response
Multidisciplinary Team Leadership:
- Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team, including nurse practitioners, registered nurses, nutritionists, and a patient experience team
- Foster effective communication and collaboration among team members to ensure a unified approach to patient care.
Patient, Community, and Social Education and Engagement:
- Conduct educational sessions for patients, potential patients, and the Ivim Health community on weight management, lifestyle changes, and preventive measures.
- Organize and participate in social outreach programs to raise awareness about obesity and its impact on health.
Policy Advocacy and Public Health:
- Advocate for public health policies that promote obesity prevention and healthy living.
- Work with public health organizations to develop strategies for community-wide obesity management and prevention.
Quality Improvement and Best Practice Implementation:
- Continuously assess and improve clinical practices to ensure adherence to the latest evidence-based guidelines.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and care efficiency in the field of obesity medicine.
Regulatory review and Pharmacy Assessment:
- Continuous assessment of onboarding of new pharmacies, ensuring appropriate attainment of regulatory accreditations and testing protocols.
- Provide education on both brand name and compounded medications and stay up to date with state-by-state policies and regulations.
- Ensure appropriate application of telehealth regulations and restrictions specific to weight loss programs.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree with a valid medical license and relevant board certification.
- ABOM certification: active, pending, or in process.
- Experience in managing obesity and metabolic disorders.
- Knowledge of current obesity treatment guidelines and research.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong understanding of telehealth platforms and technologies.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work independently and remotely, demonstrating self-motivation and accountability.
