Description
We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Data Engineer in TROY, Michigan. As a part of our team, you will be working in a technology-focused group, dealing with data analytics and transformation tasks. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in cloud technologies, database management, and analytics, especially within heavy tech-based industries.
Responsibilities
- Transform data using cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, ensuring that data from different sources is compatible and easily accessible.
- Work extensively with Databricks to create and manage sheets of code, facilitating efficient data processing.
- Utilize PySpark skillsets to write functions in Databricks for data transformations.
- Maintain and manage customer credit records, ensuring their accuracy and accessibility.
- Resolve customer inquiries in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary, such as updating information or resolving issues.
- Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently, ensuring all required information is collected and recorded.
- Actively participate in ongoing IT initiatives and projects, contributing to the team's overall objectives.
- Adapt to the business side of operations when required, demonstrating flexibility and a comprehensive understanding of the business.
- Leverage your expertise in Python for various data engineering tasks, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in cloud technologies and database management.
- Experience in EO/IR systems and algorithm implementation.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large data sets.
- Familiarity with Apache Hadoop and API development.
- Proficient in AWS technologies and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Experience with Databricks and PySpark.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
