JOB TITLE: Accounts Payable Clerk

General Job Description
The Accounts Payable Clerk will ensure all vendor bills are posted and paid accurately and on time. The Accounts Payable Clerk will also provide support and oversight to employees working at manufacturing facilities that are assisting in the vendor bill process. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be able to work independently and will have excellent communications skills.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of the accounts payable GL to subledger.
- Process vendor bills and initiate payment of the same via ACH, Wire and manual check processing as necessary.
- Process year end 1099 filings and maintain vendor w-9 records for the same.
- Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts as necessary.
- Assist in obtaining information as required for vendor set-up and ongoing maintenance.
- Assist with financial audits, reviews and tax preparation.
- Maintain and follow appropriate internal control safeguards.
- Interact with vendors to provide support for A/P functions.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting a plus.
- Five years of experience in related areas within an accounting department.
- Demonstrated understanding of GAAP accounting.
- Demonstrated bias for action.
- Ability to work in an environment that is rapidly changing, where processes and procedures are in development.
- Knowledge of ERP Systems, Microsoft Business Central a plus.
- Strong analytical ability with a high degree of accuracy.
- Highest degree of integrity and character who takes ownership of responsibilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, write, and interpret business and technical documents.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Must be able to work independently.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Periods of standing/walking/sitting.
- Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts
- Occasional loud noise
- Occasional varying environmental temperature changes
