Overview
Full Glass Wine (FGW) is a leading direct-to-consumer (DTC) wine brand revolutionizing the industry with innovative products and a customer-centric approach. We are dedicated to providing exceptional wine experiences to our customers and are looking for an experienced and strategic Director, Ecommerce to lead and manage our ecommerce operations for a growing portfolio of DTC wine brands. This role is highly collaborative, frequently working across teams and brands to deliver digital experiences that delight customers and drive sales.
The Director, Ecommerce will play a critical role in driving online sales, enhancing customer experience, and optimizing our ecommerce platform to support our ambitious business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing hands-on DTC retail accounts in Shopify, digital marketing, and data analysis.
Oversight And Responsibilities
Ecommerce Strategy:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive ecommerce strategy to drive online sales growth, customer acquisition, and retention.
- Own the ecommerce experience, including customer experience, UI/UX, merchandising, conversion rate optimization, organic traffic optimization with content and SEO, and maximizing key performance indicators.
- Identify and implement innovative tactics to enhance the ecommerce user experience and increase conversion rates.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions and stay ahead of the market.
Website Management:
- Oversee the management and optimization of the individual brand Shopify pages, ensuring it is user-friendly, visually appealing, and aligned with brand standards.
- Collaborate with web developers and designers to implement website updates, improvements, and new features.
- Ensure website functionality, performance, and security are maintained at the highest standards.
Digital Marketing Integration:
- Utilize SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media, and other digital channels to promote products and optimize online presence.
- Analyze and report on digital marketing performance, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor key ecommerce metrics, including traffic, conversion rates, average order value, and customer lifetime value.
- Use data-driven insights to identify opportunities for growth and optimization.
- Provide regular performance reports to senior management, highlighting key trends, successes, and areas for improvement.
Customer Experience:
- Ensure a seamless and positive online shopping experience for customers from browsing to checkout.
- Implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction, reduce cart abandonment, and increase repeat purchases.
- Address and resolve any customer issues related to the ecommerce platform promptly and effectively.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with teams of brand owners, creative, copywriting, digital product, lifecycle marketing, wine product, and third-party agencies to create cohesive, differentiated experiences for our DTC wine stores.
- Partner with the digital marketing team to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that drive traffic and sales to the ecommerce site.
- Collaborate with the sales team to align marketing activities with sales goals and objectives.

- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful ecommerce strategies.
- Proven ability to manage and optimize ecommerce websites for maximum performance.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and their impact on ecommerce sales.
- Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Effective leadership skills with experience managing and developing a team.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Passion for ecommerce and a commitment to staying updated with industry trends and best practices.
Experience Required:- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Ecommerce, or a related field. MBA preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience in ecommerce management (specifically at least 5 years of experience with Shopify), with a proven track record of driving online sales growth for one or more brands.
- Strong understanding of Shopify Plus, Klaviyo, web development, and digital marketing strategies.
- Proficiency in ecommerce analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and experience with A/B testing and optimization.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Experience with high-growth DTC businesses is a plus.
- Experience in the wine, beverage, or consumer goods industry is a plus.
