Editor, OEM Off-Highway
Seeking an experienced Editor who maintains writing, publishing, social media, video/podcast reporting and organizational skills and is willing and able to juggle multiple tasks and projects with varying deadlines. Journalism and print production experience preferred. Industry experience in on- and off-highway mobile equipment markets preferred.
· Act as brand editorial lead for the on- and off-highway mobile equipment markets.
· Write long-form and short-form articles, product write-ups, blogs and more for both print and online, both scheduled and while attending tradeshows/conferences.
· Manage e-newsletters and social media channels.
· Assign out and manage contributed and freelanced content for both print and online.
· Spearhead monthly production process, including working with Production Manager, Art Director and more.
· Write headlines with good SEO for online publication. Utilize content management platforms to determine keywords to use within stories as well as digital content for the on- and off-highway mobile equipment markets.
· Collaborate with the Construction content team to identify and share content.
· Facilitate and oversee awards programs and spec guides, and work with Content Director and Sales team to continue improving processes, etc.
· Contribute to custom client content and programs when needed.
· Work with Content Director to identify top industry topics, create annual editorial calendar, update digital media kit and more.
· Help manage content for OEMOffHighway.com, including but not limited to contributed content, case studies, posting of news and events and more.
· Moderate podcast series, video production podcasts and other webinars/seminars, including the OEM Industry Summit.
· Attend tradeshows/conferences and other industry events.
· Be able to repurpose content for different forms of media.
Purpose: To support the brand, content and project efforts.
Job Results/Outcomes
Ensure print and digital properties contain fresh content, including written, audio, video and visual.
a. Take ownership of brand from an editorial perspective, including content direction.
b. Write long-form and short-form articles, product write-ups, blogs and more for both print and online, both scheduled and while attending tradeshows/conferences.
c. Complete articles and other assignments according to specified deadlines.
d. Input articles, news items, blogs, case studies, product write-ups and other content into the content management system.
e. Collaborate with the Construction content team to identify and share content.
f. Stay abreast of industry news and events. Must be willing to grow knowledge in on- and off-highway mobile equipment markets.
g. Ensure content is edited and accurate.
h. Post and submit content based on schedule.
i. Generate original content ideas and potential revenue opportunities and present those for vetting and approval.
j. Monitor content performance to learn what content is working and what content isn’t.
k. Repurpose content across different brand channels.
l. Contribute to custom client content and programs when needed.
Other duties as assigned are achieved in helping the brand(s) meet revenue goal(s)
- Participate in team and company meetings.
- Engage in client networking and building relationships.
- Attend tradeshows/conferences and other industry events.
- Collaborate with sales team and designers to accomplish client or sales efforts projects, including webinars, premium content, other customer projects and more.
- Facilitate and oversee awards programs and spec guides, and work with Content Director and Sales team to continue improving processes, etc.
- Collaborate with art director in production for print issues.
- Help proofread print pages to ensure quality content.
- Moderate podcast series, video production podcasts and other webinars/seminars, including the OEM Industry Summit.
- Work with Social Media Specialists to deploy engaging social media posts.
