Responsibilities
Duties / Responsibilities include:
- Support for the architecture and management of the messaging operating infrastructure and platforms using servers, desktop computers and mobile devices.
- Management of recipients, mailboxes, transport, mail flow, administrative roles, threat protection, compliance, migrations, interfaces, and client connectivity.
- Directory integration to ensure user functionality of the related systems.
- Building and Managing messaging system enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure up-grades.
- Hands-on system administrative support, system maintenance and operations.
- Support for all messaging platforms including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft 365, Active Directory administration, messaging archivers, and text message capture.
- Day-to-day management of cloud-based, on-premises, and mobile messaging systems, and platforms.
- Vendor administration of the various messaging system vendors.
- Monthly communication meetings to keep vendor’s “Roadmap” up to date.
- Quarterly system health checks on all messaging systems.
- Maintenance of all messaging systems on current and supported versions.
- Ensure all systems are on vendor annual maintenance and support.
- Create, review, revise, and update technical documentation related to messaging systems. This includes reviewing contracts, writing technical statements of work, and creating policies and procedures.
- Troubleshooting, root cause analysis and resolution for Level 2 and 3 requests for messaging systems.
- Mentoring and coaching other team members as needed.
- Providing reports to management as requested.
- Collaborating with Project Management Office on messaging system projects and initiatives.
- Staying current with the latest threats, attacks, and vulnerabilities to messaging systems and platforms.
- Collaborating with Cybersecurity team to ensure messaging systems meet Cybersecurity requirements.
- Ensuring that messaging systems are kept patched in a timely manner on a consistent basis.
- Ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, FBI and FDLE CJIS guidelines, CALEA certification, and industry best practices.
Highly Preferred
- Minimum of four (4) years’ experience with systems and security administration of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Active Directory in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with O365 administration.
- Experience working in and supporting public safety organizations is preferred.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft SCCM, and Windows server administration.
- CJIS certification Level 4 or higher.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
