R+L Carriers is expanding its Information Technology department and has an immediate opening for a SQL Server Developer on the Business Intelligence team. Successful candidates will be responsible for all aspects relating to SQL Server and possess the knowledge and ability to develop using the Microsoft stack of SQL Server development tools to produce – queries, stored procedures, data analysis, SSIS packages, SQL Server Agent jobs, and data extracts/integrations using a variety of methods.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable working independently with business to collaboratively define projects, interpret business rules, and debug technical issues when they arise
- Communicate the status of project and planning activity timelines with team members and end-users
- Apply business and database analysis skills to gain understanding of business needs and aid in the definition and creation of solutions to meet the needs of our end-users
- Design, implement, deploy, and manage enterprise level data solutions while adhering to best practice
- Design, implement, and manage SSIS packages and other ETL processes
- Troubleshoot slow performing queries and anlayze query plans
- Administer and develop solutions for Microsoft SQL Server – using SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Visual Studio
- Provide support for off-hours deployments and be able to participate in an off-hours support rotation
Qualifications
- Experience (3 years minimum) with Microsoft SQL Server (2012 or higher) T-SQL development
- Experience (3 years minimum) with SSIS development and deployment to SSIS Catalogs
- Experience (1 years minimum) with SSRS development and deployment
- Expierience (1 year minimum) with Microsost Visual Studio 2017 or higher
- Expierience (1 year minimum) with Microsost Azure DevOps platform
- Oracle(12c+), PL/SQL, XML, JSON, geospatial, or REST API experience is a plus
- Transportation Industry experience is a plus
- MicroStrategy experience is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
