Overview:
California Naturals is seeking a uniquely creative and strategic Social Media Associate to craft our social strategy, manage our content channels and platforms, and keep on-top of organic growth trends. With an emphasis on strategic planning and data driven decisions, this role will bring to life the California Naturals brand through: engaging content development + management, community development, customer advocacy, product/brand awareness, content creation, relevant and innovative trend predictions, and the development of our overall public persona.
From a day to day perspective, this person will create and manage the organic content calendar, manage and source new content creators, schedule content for posting, create organic content, develop a pipeline for new content ideation, analyze and report on organic KPIs, gain knowledge of algorithm changes and trends to directly affect the content direction and strategy and identify opportunities to improve current performance and continue to be a proactive team member across the fast growing company.
The ideal candidate will be experienced at navigating a fast-paced environment and have an excitement for cross channel collaboration and expanding their skillset as a whole. You will report to the VP, Brand Marketing & Retail and Marketing Manager while working collaboratively with brand marketing, PR, influencer managers, and California Naturals executive leadership.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Define, plan, and implement an organic social strategy to ultimately drive brand loyalty, social engagement, and conversions. Emphasis on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube to start, but will plan to expand to platforms like Pinterest in the future
- Provide thoughtful and proactive direction for social media best practices such as content publishing guidelines, KPI benchmarks, and channel growth strategies across all platforms
- Manage contracted content creators by briefing and giving feedback in-line with growth strategy and daily learnings
- Support the creation and strategic development of relevant and engaging social media content beyond the in-house creators
- Maintain deep understanding of social media metrics and data analysis and ownership of data touchpoints
- Collaborate with key stakeholders (most importantly our brand and paid media teams) to ideate, strategize and execute brand campaigns-- ranging from social content ideation, partnership integrations, and opportunities to leverage customer insights to ensure a holistic, 360 approach
- Oversee Organic Social content calendar
- Conduct market and industry research to inform social media strategies
Qualifications
- 1-2 years relevant experience in organic social marketing, including creative development, preferably within the beauty industry
- Experience as a social media coordinator or in a social media role
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Thrives in abstract and creative environments as a self-starter, and operates with structure, organization, and an entrepreneurial spirit
- Experience generating and executing social media campaigns across digital platforms with quantifiable results growing audiences and delivering on engagement metrics
- Analytic and quantitative skills. Comfortable leveraging data to develop and measure marketing programs and present progress metrics against KPIs to senior leadership
- A creative at heart: Strong copywriting skills, experience providing notes/feedback to creatives, has an eye for content creation, strong understanding of brand guidelines/brand voice to ensure we maintain authenticity
- Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders and external agencies/partners/talent
- Experience using all of the above mentioned social platforms
- Enjoys keeping a finger on the pulse of social trends, beauty and hair trends + general cultural moments

Nice to Haves
- Experience/familiar working with influencers and/or influencer agencies
- Experience working in tandem with Paid Media strategies and KPIs
- Previous experience creating social strategy
- Comfortable with content creation, being camera facing & editing capabilities
