Job Summary
The Trading Assistant supports the trading desk by managing and executing administrative tasks, facilitating trade settlements, and providing real-time market data analysis. This role involves assisting traders with trade execution, maintaining accurate trade records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Trading Assistant is a key player in ensuring the smooth operation of trading activities and requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist traders in the execution of trades, including order entry, confirmation, and settlement processes.
- Monitor and analyze real-time market data to support trading decisions.
- Reconcile daily trades, ensuring accuracy in trade records and resolving any discrepancies.
- Manage administrative tasks such as preparing trade documentation, maintaining trading systems, and updating internal databases.
- Ensure all trading activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Coordinate with brokers, counterparties, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth trade execution.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on trading activities and market conditions.
- Monitor risk exposure and assist in implementing risk management strategies.
- Support the trading desk's technology needs, including troubleshooting systems and software.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior traders and management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Previous experience in trading, finance, or a similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in trading platforms, financial software, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to analyze market data and trends.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in trade execution and record-keeping.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with traders and external partners.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Flexibility and willingness to work in a dynamic and sometimes high-pressure environment.
- Strong sense of ethics and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
