Job Title: Data Quality Project Manager (remote)
Exemption Status: Salaried/Exempt
Job Summary:
The Data Project Manager will oversee and coordinate data-driven projects from inception to completion. This role involves managing project timelines, resources, and budgets while ensuring that data initiatives align with organizational goals and deliver actionable insights. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data management, project management, and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Define project deliverables and ensure they meet business requirements and standards.
- Monitor project progress, manage risks, and resolve issues to keep projects on track.
2. Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for all data project-related communications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including the data quality team, programmers, and business leaders, to gather requirements and ensure alignment.
- Provide regular updates on project status, including progress reports, risks, and mitigation strategies.
3. Team Coordination:
- Lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
- Assign tasks, set deadlines, and manage team performance to achieve project goals.
- Foster a productive team environment and address any conflicts or challenges.
4. Data Governance and Quality:
- Create and ensure adherence to data quality governance policies and best practices throughout project lifecycles.
- Oversee data quality assurance processes, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Implement and monitor data management procedures to maintain data integrity.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-project evaluations.
- Develop and deliver presentations and reports to stakeholders and senior management.
- Document lessons learned and best practices for future projects.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining standardized documentation of company-wide data quality issues, resolutions, processes, and best practices.
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in data project management.
- Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies related to data management and project management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Prefer 2+ years of experience in data-related project management, with a proven track record of successfully managing data-driven projects.
Skills:
- Strong project management skills with experience in planning, executing, and closing projects.
- Proficiency in data management tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, R, and Power BI).
- Strong Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to take initiative and work remotely and independently, as well as collaborate and build consensus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with superior attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex subject matter clearly and concisely to all team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities and fast-paced environment.
