Key Responsibilities
-Staff Education & Training: Develop and coordinate orientation programs for new staff members, ongoing in-service training, and continuing education opportunities to ensure all nursing staff are up-to-date with the latest best practices and regulatory requirements.
Compliance: Ensure the nursing staff complies with all state and federal regulations, including mandatory training and certification requirements. Maintain accurate records of staff training and development activities.
Curriculum Development: Design and implement educational programs based on the facility's needs, including clinical skills, safety protocols, and resident care standards.
Performance Evaluation: Collaborate with department heads and supervisors to assess the training needs of staff members and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, fostering a positive learning environment and promoting professional growth.
Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that support staff development and enhance the quality of care provided to residents.
Quality Improvement: Participate in quality assurance initiatives and contribute to the development of strategies for improving resident care outcomes.
Weekend on-call participation
Qualifications:
Licensure: Current RN license in Massachusetts required.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience in a long-term care or similar setting. Previous experience in staff development, education, or a leadership role preferred.
Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Certification: Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), Certified Nurse Educator (CNE), or similar certification is a plus.
