Senior Salesforce Developer
Position Summary: Economic Mobility Systems, an education technology non-profit, is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Salesforce Developer to join our dynamic team. The Senior Salesforce Senior Developer will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of a regional ecosystem of CRM solutions aimed at enhancing student lifecycle management and driving improved college and workforce outcomes for Dallas County. Reporting to the Chief Technology, this position will be responsible for creating complex, multi-institutional solutions that leverage enhanced data automation to address challenges spanning K12, higher education, community, and workforce partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solution Development: Design, develop, and implement custom Salesforce solutions tailored to the unique needs of a regional ecosystem encompassing K12 school districts, higher education institutions, community organizations, and workforce partners.
- Translate business requirements into well-architected solutions that best leverage the Salesforce platform and other technologies outside Salesforce that meet the requirement.
- Develop, deploy, and support custom unmanaged/managed package solutions.
- Support SFDX and/or Cumulus CI development, branch management, merging, and code deployment.
- Automation: Utilize Salesforce automation tools, including Flow and Apex, to automate complex data processes and workflows.
- Integration Management: Lead efforts to integrate Salesforce CRM systems with external data sources and platforms, such as student information systems, learning management systems, and workforce databases, to create a unified data ecosystem.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders from K12, higher education, community, and workforce sectors to gather requirements, define solution architectures, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and expertise in Salesforce development best practices, including coding standards, security principles, and performance optimization techniques, to ensure the scalability and reliability of CRM solutions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing and debugging of Salesforce configurations and customizations to identify and resolve issues, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet user requirements and expectations.
- Documentation and Training: Create comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, system diagrams, and user guides, to facilitate system maintenance and user training activities. Define, communicate, and manage technical change management (e.g., release) processes for all Salesforce technology efforts.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of new Salesforce features, technologies, and industry trends, and proactively identify opportunities to enhance existing solutions and drive innovation in student lifecycle management and workforce development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.
- Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I (required) and II (strongly preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Salesforce development, with a focus on complex, multi-institutional solutions and data automation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Service Cloud and Experience Cloud. Prefer experience with Education Cloud and/or Education Data Architecture.
- In-depth experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flexi Pages, Flow, HTML5, and JavaScript within the Salesforce platform.
- Experience with SFDX and Salesforce Development Lifecycle.
- Experience in deploying code through DevOps processes, GitHub, and package development.
- Experience with Salesforce data modeling, security, and sharing rules.
- Experience with Salesforce integration tools and techniques (e.g., REST/SOAP APIs).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and build consensus around technical decisions.
- Experience working in the education sector or with CRM solutions in higher education settings is a plus.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) with at least three consecutive years of U.S. residency from the date of legal entry as an LPR.
