Job Description: Assistant Merchant
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Assistant Merchant to join our SoldThrough family. We are a fast-moving startup with a passion for bringing unique, relevant, and elevated brands from around the world to the U.S. consumer. We are transforming how brands execute in the digital marketplace and elevating the direct-to-consumer experience. As an Assistant Merchant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our retail operations and contributing to our company's growth. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude who believes no task is too big or too small.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage products and create product data templates for all clients and marketplace seller portals.
- Monitor and improve product content, including titles, descriptions, images, and pricing in all marketplace seller portals.
- Address and resolve any product-related issues or customer inquiries.
- Provide insights and recommendations for improving listing effectiveness and sales performance.
- Collaborate with the merchandising team to assist in product selection, pricing, and inventory management.
- Manage and update all pricing and promotions in our systems.
- Work closely with clients to ensure timely and efficient product delivery with the creation of PO’s and monitoring shipment trackers.
- Utilize Excel to organize and analyze data, creating reports and insights for the CRO and the SoldThrough clients.
- Support the planning and execution of promotional events, sales campaigns, and product launches.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and sales, to ensure alignment with merchandising initiatives.
- Conduct market research and analyze retail trends to identify opportunities for product assortment improvements.
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for managing data and creating templates.
- Strong knowledge of retail operations and math, including margin calculations, inventory turnover, and sales forecasting.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and external clients.
- Detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy and data integrity.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to think critically to find innovative merchandising solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, E-Commerce, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
