Job Overview:
Genpro is currently seeking a highly organized Accounts Payable Specialist to provide assistance to our accounts payable department and ensure its efficient operation. This position, reporting directly to the Financial Controller, will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the payables process, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and affiliated partners.
The primary duty of the Accounts Payable Specialist is to provide exceptional assistance to the departments and entities we cater to, while maintaining a strong work ethic and the ability to prioritize effectively. The ideal candidate should have previous experience in payables, advanced skills in Excel, exceptional customer service skills, and a strong understanding of accounting principles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Vendor Coordination - build trustworthy relationships with our carriers, handling phone calls and emails from carriers, and factoring companies to verify load rates, remit addresses, and address any additional issues related to the load.
- Audits PODs for carriers notations indicating OS&D (over, shortage, damage).
- Entering the necessary information and forward all documentation to the Claims Manager.
- Participating in the full cycle of accounts payable processing of carriers' invoices.
- Invoice Processing
- Ensure receipt, scanning, verification, and updating carrier load documents and invoices as needed.
- Confirm proper application of carrier advances and other associated fees.
- Receiving and verifying invoices, check requests, and expense reports.
- Monitoring accounts to ensure vendor payments are timely and minimize the risk of delinquency charges to the company.
- Identifying, researching, and resolving invoice discrepancies.
- Performs additional tasks as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree in accounting, finance, or a related major, preferred but not required
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in an Accounts payable environment.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Logistics experience preferred.
- Demonstrated advanced analytical thinking skills.
- Collaborative with colleagues and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (PivotTable & VLOOKUP) and Word for analysis and business correspondence.
- Demonstrated knowledge of transportation industry rules and regulations preferred not required.
- Turvo experience preferred but not required.
