Provides direct oversight for Billings Clinic product/equipment value analysis operations and related consultation to Billings Clinic affiliate hospitals and clinics. Develops objectives, policies, and procedures for department cost centers to formalize and implement the mission, vision, and values of Billings Clinic by developing standardization and utilization opportunities for products and services. Accountabilities include quality of services; short and long range planning to achieve goals and objectives; fiscal control; physician and interdepartmental and intradepartmental relations.
Essential Job Functions
• Coordinates Billings Clinic standardization, expense management and cost containment initiatives and strategies related to product/equipment analysis, review, trials and acquisition.
• Serves as an expert resource for value analysis to assist the Billings Clinic Supply Chain Operations Department and affiliate organizations with produce and equipment selection.
• Supports and practices process improvement principles to assess and improve the quality of products provided within the organization. Assesses and recommends best practices and process improvement to optimize utilization, enhance efficiencies, reduce cost and/or improves quality of care.
• In collaboration with the DSCO and MSCO leads, develops and revises programs which enhance department services. Leads by example and Supply Chain Operations guiding principles.
• Coordinates with physicians and other supports Billings Clinic leadership to assure continuity in pursuing service line/organizational goals and synergy in implementing plans and problem resolution.
• Assists the DSCO and MSCO with development and monitoring of the Supply Chain Operations’ budget and maintains a realistic, cost-effective product and equipment review program.
• Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency environmental, employee or patient safety standards relevant to job performance.
• Demonstrates and encourages an ethic of open/honest communication and teamwork throughout the organization. Builds an environment of shared commitment to Billings Clinic’s goals and responsibility to achieve quality patient outcomes. Provides consultation for related concerns and acts as a customer advocate by demonstrating sensitivity to ethical and legal ramifications of practice.
• Participates in evaluation, selection and integration of health care products, equipment and technology that support quality of care/financial needs and the efficient use of resources.
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
• • Performs daily audits of perioperative records checking for completeness and correctness working with staff to make needed correction or changes.
• • Assists in ensuring the daily totals and monthly reports are accurate. Verifies the integrity of data exchanges through the interfaces such as ADT, patient billing and MMI systems through the use of reports, quality monitoring and regular audits.
• • Identifies issues and coordinates with appropriate resources for resolution.
• a) Works with Coding Specialist and Information Services staff to troubleshoot charge issues, late charges, and release of accounts for billing purposes.
• b) Reviews reports of manual and/or suspended charges
• c) Review daily interface upload errors and notifies appropriate individuals of needed corrections.
• • Performs maintenance of and updates to Surgery Center/Surgical Services charge sheets.
• • Conducts charge management audits, correlating charge packet information with the procedure, identifying missed or incorrect charges and ensuring accurate data. Inputs data into the computer information system, including patient charges and data entry and reporting.
• • Participates in the planning processes for system changes and/or enhancements. Coordinates with

• • For Surgical Services, maintains, audits, and validates the required organic logs and records.
• • Works collaboratively with the OR Business Specialist and Surgery Center/ Surgical Services Leadership to coordinate the revenue cycle and financial operations within the Surgery Center/Surgical Services in order to better support quality, cost effective clinical outcomes. Works in concert with Surgery Center/Surgical Services staff in accessing, extracting, synthesizing and verifying clinical and/or financial information.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
• Minimum Bachelors degree in nursing
Experience
• 2 years of clinical nursing experience providing direct patient care
• Demonstrated management/leadership, program management and computerized analysis or data modeling skills
• Prior supply chain operations experience a plus
Certifications and Licenses
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Montana At hire
• Current Montana drivers license and the ability to be insured to operate Billings Clinic vehicles At hire
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered. Employees that require a licensed or certification must be properly licensed/certified and the licensure/certification must be in good standing.
