Sr Data Warehouse Engineer

About the team:
If you want to drive innovation in data management and analytics, this is the place for you. The Engineering team is a growing division focusing on building scalable, secure, and efficient data systems that power our customer-facing applications and internal analytics capabilities.
Your main tasks:
- Design, implement, and maintain both transactional and analytical database systems, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Perform data discovery exercises and provide in depth analysis materialized
- Lead the development and optimization of data models for our data warehouse, following best practices such as Kimball-style dimensional modeling.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes to efficiently load and transform data from various sources into the data warehouse.
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including upgrades, patching, and performance tuning for both transactional and warehouse systems.
- Collaborate with various business units to optimize data structures and queries for reporting and analysis needs.
- Evaluate and recommend new database technologies and tools to improve our data infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Develop and maintain documentation for database structures, processes, and best practices.
What you bring to the table:
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in database administration and data warehousing.
- Strong expertise in AWS services, particularly Redshift, RDS, and S3.
- Expert knowledge of SQL and experience with database performance tuning and query optimization.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling techniques.
- Experience with DBT or similar ELT/ETL tools and processes for data integration.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker and Amazon QuickSight.
- Strong knowledge of Python or other programming languages for data manipulation and scripting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Salary Range NYC - 150K-165 K Base salary (Bonus eligible)
