Job Description
We are currently seeking a Superintendent to support our growing project backlog. The Superintendent is responsible for the effective execution and production of all field operations on assigned projects. In conjunction with the Project Manager, the Superintendent assumes overall responsibility and accountability for all factors contributing to the success of the project. Projects consist of various commercial projects, including high end retail, casino renovation, and a ground up office building. Project values are between $1-4 Million.
Job Duties:
- Establishes timelines and prioritizes specific tasks to ensure projects are completed according to customer specifications within scheduled timeframes and budget.
- Coordinates schedules with the Project Manager, property owners, landlords, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Ensures equipment, materials, and resources are available as specified in project plans. Evaluates and assists in determining when supplies/equipment must be ordered or expedited.
- Build and maintain positive relationships and communicate effectively with customers, internal coworkers, subcontractors, suppliers, and anyone else tied to the success of the project.
- Provides detailed scope of work and “job instruction” packages to subcontractors. Provides technical advice and direction as necessary to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Monitors crews and subcontractors for use of personal protective equipment. Maintains quality and safety standards and ensures company standards are followed.
- Responds to customers, field crews, and/or subcontractor questions related to specific projects. Handles update calls from field crews and subcontractors.
- Monitors activities, timeline, and expenses. Prepares status reports and modifies schedules or plans as required through Project Manager.
- Tracks labor and material costs for each job.
- Maintains up-to-date project files, project and customer databases, and inventory. Ensures completion photos are posted to Internet or job folders.
- Lead progress meetings as necessary.
Qualifications
- Qualified candidates should have 5+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects.
- Must have experience with commercial interior buildouts and renovations.
- Experience with Procore or similar project management software.
- Must have strong communications skills, with the ability to communicate with clients, internal employees, and subcontractors.
- Must be enthusiastic and highly motivated.
- Must have transportation and the ability to support projects throughout South Florida.
