Job Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Sage Database Administrator with deep expertise in Sage databases, specifically with SEI and CRM systems. This role is ideal for a seasoned consultant who can jump in, clean up, and organize an existing database environment that has been complicated by recent changes and new hires. The consultant will be responsible for assessing the current state of the database, implementing necessary clean-up and organizational strategies, and training internal staff on best practices.
Responsibilities - Database Assessment & Clean-Up:
- Conduct a thorough assessment of the current database environment, identifying issues, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Clean up and reorganize the database to enhance functionality, performance, and data integrity.
- Develop and implement strategies to address data inconsistencies and optimize database structure.
- Database Administration:
- Provide expert-level administration for Sage databases, including SEI and CRM systems.
- Oversee database performance, ensure security and integrity, and manage user access and permissions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues as they arise.
- Training & Consultation:
- Train internal staff on how to properly utilize the Sage database, providing guidance on best practices and efficient use of the system.
- Act as a consultant to offer strategic advice on database management and improvements.
- Document procedures, best practices, and provide ongoing support to ensure the team’s proficiency with the database.
- Project Management:
- Manage the database clean-up and optimization project, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Provide regular updates and reports on project status, progress, and outcomes.
- Conduct a performance assessment at the end of the 3-month contract to evaluate the effectiveness of the implemented changes and the consultant’s performance.
Qualifications - Experience:
- Extensive experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on Sage databases, particularly SEI and CRM.
- Proven track record in database clean-up, organization, and optimization.
- Demonstrated experience in training and consulting roles, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Skills:
- Expertise in Sage database administration, with deep knowledge of SEI and CRM systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and mentor staff effectively.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in database management tools and techniques related to Sage databases.
- Experience with data cleaning, migration, and integration processes.
- Familiarity with database performance tuning, security, and backup strategies.
