Summary:
The Operations Strategy Manager initiates and oversees the development and execution of strategic initiatives across the entire Operations Group (Customer Care, Customer Service and Information Technology). The Operations Strategy Manager is a key and trusted advisor to the Assistant Executive Director (AED) of Operations. This position works across the Operations Group and with other NTTA Departments to drive organizational improvements by fostering collaboration, improving operational processes, driving project management, and enhancing information sharing and resource coordination. They are also responsible for the preparation of reports and presentations for the Executive Leadership team and the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities
Strategic Support:
- Serves as a strategic partner to the AED of Operations, providing insight and recommendations to support the decision-making process.
- Proactively manages cross-functional/cross-organization projects and drives strategic initiatives ensuring successful execution of NTTA’s Operations Division Strategic Plan in support of NTTA’s Mission and Strategic Plan.
- Acts as a liaison between company, customers, and vendors, facilitating communication both within NTTA and externally with the tolling industry.
- Manages the development and preparation process of reports and presentations for the Executive Leadership team and the Board of Directors.
Operational Efficiency
- Leads cross-functional teams in the planning and execution of projects; develop project plans, outline tasks, timelines, resources, and dependencies and may also participate in the design and/or testing phases. Monitors project progress against timelines, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective actions, and adjusts schedules and targets on the project as needed.
- Proactively identify operational inefficiencies, risks and issues, research and develop mitigation strategies, and escalate as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
- Facilitates the definition of project scope, goals, activities, and resource requirements; resolves or assists in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas; and develops methods to monitor project progress.
- Conducts cost-benefit analysis, estimates expected costs for the project and manages project budgets and resource allocations throughout the lifespan of the project.
- Facilitate quarterly retrospectives and quarterly planning/goal-setting sessions.
Leadership And Team Development
- Foster a positive and collaborative company culture, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
- Create process documentation and training materials to train team members on changes to processes and/or technology.
- Facilitate quarterly retrospectives and quarterly planning/goal-setting sessions.
- Leads inter/intra-departmental teams to complete an assigned project on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.
- Serves as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy, coach department heads on management success.
Qualifications
M inimum:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, finance, management, social sciences, or a similar field.
- 5-7 years of increasingly responsible experience in strategy, operations, case/project management, investigatory and compliance or similar role.
- Ability to conduct investigations of operational processes and procedures to identify deficiencies and recommend solutions, preferably within the public sector.
- Ability to make independent decisions within the framework defined by management with review and assistance as needed.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven and qualitative decisions.
- Strong organizational and writing skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, communicating internal business needs to a broader internal and external audience.
Preferred
- Master’s degree.
- PMP Certification.
- Case/project management consulting experience highly preferred.
- Experience with case/contract management, cost center profit/loss, and client development .
