About the role!
The Clinical Program Manager is responsible for three main components: 1) In collaboration with the Director of Business Operations, Clinical Director, Medical Director, and CCO, the CPM will further develop, refine and expand client care services and outpatient therapy within Clinical Services. The Clinical Program Manager of the Clinical Services Care Team is fully charged with the operational development and management of the Care Team and will work collaboratively with a fully interdisciplinary team to ensure quality of clinical care, safety and well-being of clients/staff and setting an empowering and enriching, positive work culture. With the Directors, the CPM ensures the program adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, operative procedures and licensing requirements and provides clinical consultation as needed to Care Coordinators. In addition, this position is expected to foster community relations and collaborate with CHC’s marketing and communications team to grow CHC. 2) The leader-clinician in this position will be expected to engage in direct clinical work seeing approximately 6-7 clients weekly. 3) This manager is expected to oversee 5-6 clinicians which includes meeting with them regularly, approving time off, overseeing productivity and performance, etc. This position is approximately 75% administrative/managerial and 25% direct clinical services for clients. This position currently reports to the Director of Business Operations.
As a Clinical Program Manager, you will:
- To contribute to the development and implementation of the vision for the Care Team model, consistent with the organization's strategic directives.
- To organize and manage day-to-day operations of the Care Team in a coordinated and efficient manner, maximizing collaboration and the efficient use of resources across programs, and creating/refining/documenting policies and procedures.
- To continuously monitor appropriate clinical care and productivity (i.e., direct service) expectations for all clinical services staff members and use combination of operational planning and interpersonal skills to effectively manage clinician calendars and maintain productivity goals.
- Handle internal referrals, keeping in mind the agency’s priorities and community partnerships.
- To serve as the organization's liaison to all community organizations as they relate to outpatient therapy.
- To manage waitlists, assist Care Coordinators with responding to inquiries, and track team outcome measures on a regular basis.
- To facilitate Care Team meetings.
- Maintain highest standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
- To work with other CPMs and Directors in the recruitment, hiring, supervision, and evaluation of clinical skills and performance of clinical staff members.
- To work with CPMs, the Care Team, and other clinical staff on complex cases requiring consultation from the Clinical Director and/or CCO.
- To participate fully and effectively as a member of the organization's Leadership Team.
- To develop clinical quality and licensure standards in conjunction with relevant staff members and to develop and maintain a quality assurance monitoring program.
- To work with the compliance and HIPAA officers on medical-legal compliance activities and to manage the organization’s medical-legal risk.
- To oversees any special duties performed by the Care Team including, but not limited to, referrals to CPS, psychiatric hospitalization, or police/probation officer involvement.
- To serve with Directors as mediator when families and/or clients are in conflict with Care Team staff. To be responsible for resolving and/or developing a course of action for all parties.
- Perform clinical service as determined by the Clinical Director including outpatient therapy (25%).
- Participate as a presenter in CHC’s Community Connections Division

What we’re looking for:
- Knowledge and understanding of CHC’s four areas of expertise: ADHD, LD, Anxiety & Depression and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and expertise in child/adolescent development and child/adolescent psychopathologies especially in the areas of behavioral or mental health care disciplines.
- Ability to lead in a complex interdisciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated track record of clinical program development, management and community outreach initiatives.
- Ability to work flexibly, effectively and collaboratively with colleagues at a senior management level within the organization.
- Ability to develop and grow staff using effective mentoring and coaching skills.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization (i.e., with peers, subordinates, board and donors, etc.) and to communicate with outside organizations (i.e., with representatives of university and community agencies).
- Experience and knowledge in working and negotiating working agreements with public agencies and health care systems.
- Experience with medical-legal risk management.
- Demonstrated track record in orchestrating change management within a clinical environment.
- Experience in operational planning.
- Excellent time management and material organizational skills.
- Strong ability to prioritize and rapidly switch tasks within a fast-paced environment.

- Knowledge and use of computers and an Electronic Health Record (EHR) is essential.
About your background (education/experience):
- Completion of professional level training, including professional licensure (LMFT/LCSW/PhD/PsyD), in psychology, mental or behavioral health or similar discipline or medical degree with specialty training in pediatrics or child psychiatry and at least 3 years of experience post licensure
- A minimum of 2 years of administrative and managerial experience, increasing in complexity, including the supervision and management of clinical professionals
- Experience in interdisciplinary setting delivering services to children and families with behavioral and developmental challenges
- Excellent knowledge of the standards of care for mental health and behavioral health care and good training in the legal/ethical issues of mental health based services- including both standard outpatient and Intensive Outpatient programs.
- Adherence to all professional, ethical, legal and confidentiality issues outlined by APA and Federal laws (e.g., HIPAA).
- Focused on delivering consistently excellent customer service 100% of the time.
- Strong communication skills to ensure the family, the CHC professionals and the business services department can work together as a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and highly organized.
- Sensitive, warm and collaborative – with parents and other professionals.
- Knowledgeable of community resources.

Physical Requirements:
- May be required to occasionally lift, move and/or set-up stacks of documents, lap-top computers, flip charts and other materials.
- May be required to work for extended periods of time at a computer terminal.

Compensation based on a 1.0 FTE:
Range: Doctoral Level Clinicians (i.e. PsyD) $130K-$165K per year
Master’s Level Clinicians (i.e. LMFT) $100K-$135K per year
Pay Type: salary
- The starting base salary for this position is as shown above. The actual base salary is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
