Responsibilities
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Systems Engineer in Westlake, TX. Key Tasks:
- Systems and platform operations and technology management
- Agile (Scrum, Kanban) delivery and system design, development, test and operational automation
- Hands on working with public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Supporting 24/7, continuous availability production and managed environments
- Good understanding of software architecture to help empower software developers and engineers to build platforms with greater resiliency and fault tolerance in mind
- Python scripting
- Managing Kubernetes cluster administration and expected to have good experience troubleshooting Kubernetes
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in systems and platform operations and technology management
- Expertise with Agile (Scrum, Kanban) delivery and system design, development, test and operational automation
- Exposure to On Prem and Public Cloud as well as hands on experience working with public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Experience supporting 24/7, continuous availability production and managed environments
- Good understanding of software architecture to help empower software developers and engineers to build platforms with greater resiliency and fault tolerance in mind
- SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) principles a plus - resiliency, observability, and governance gating
- Python scripting skills
- Experience in managing Kubernetes cluster administration and expected to have good experience troubleshooting Kubernetes
- Basic knowledge of Cloud computing, VMs, Windows, Linux, Azure and AWS
- Experience with continuous integration tools, such as Jenkins
- Experience with Analytics and Monitoring tools such as Datadog and Grafana
- Good to have knowledge of networking, firewalls & load balancers
- Knowledge of standard methodologies for IT operations in an always-on, always-available service model
- Great communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work across teams to continuously analyze system performance in production, troubleshoot consumer reported issues, and proactively identify areas in need of optimization

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
