The Opportunity
Join our Planning, Design, and Construction (PDC) team as a key leader managing the Construction Support Team. The Construction Support Manager oversees administrative project processes, coordinating with the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of PDC, Project Portfolio Managers, the Planning and Design division, and Facilities Operations (FO) Maintenance Planners. You will lead the selection and evaluation of architects, engineers, and contractors, direct the Office Technology Manager for PDC’s website development, and manage the Database Manager for Facilities and Business Operations (FBO) Project Management Information System (PMIS). Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and sustaining data reporting and analytics tools and improving project management processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Construction Support Team, coordinating with PDC’s Planning and Design division, Design and Construction division, and FO’s Maintenance Planners to oversee project intake through project closeout.
- Manage the PMIS, train staff and vendors, and develop reporting tools. Create dashboards, perform system testing, and recommend improvements.
- Advise on vendor selection, and ensure compliance with schedules, budgets, and UCF standards. Resolve issues to speed up project processes.
- Drive software integration with FBO, Administration, and ERP teams. Create and manage reports, ensure data accuracy, and implement process improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years experience in database administration or management or a similar role, with experience overseeing project support functions, preferably in a construction environment.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams, with strong mentoring, training, and performance management skills.
- Experience managing project information systems, developing reports, and creating data visualizations (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Ability to interpret and transform raw data into useful insights and recommendations.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., e-Builder, Procore, Microsoft Project) and database administration with preferred experience using construction management tools and reporting software.
- Awareness of construction projects, including project intake, scheduling, budgeting, and project close-out.
- Knowledgeable in job solicitation including vendor selection, contract management, and maintaining positive client relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications related to the construction field (e.g., PMP, CCM) are a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, stakeholders, and external vendors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing project needs.
