Job Opportunity Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Benefits Manager to oversee and manage the benefits programs for our diverse workforce. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in benefits administration, with a particular emphasis on utilizing Workday for benefits management. This role is critical in ensuring our employees receive competitive and comprehensive benefits packages, while also maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Benefits Program Management: Oversee the administration of all employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
- Workday Benefits Administration: Serve as the primary Workday benefits administrator, ensuring accurate and timely data entry, maintenance, and reporting of employee benefits information. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues within Workday related to benefits.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with external benefits vendors and brokers to negotiate plan renewals, manage contracts, and ensure service level agreements are met. Monitor vendor performance and address any discrepancies.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA. Prepare and submit required benefits reports, filings, and audits.
- Employee Education & Communication: Develop and deliver benefits communications and educational materials to employees, ensuring they understand and maximize their benefits. Conduct open enrollment sessions and ongoing benefits training.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze benefits data and trends to recommend plan changes or enhancements. Provide regular reports on benefits utilization, cost analysis, and employee feedback to senior management.
- Policy Development & Improvement: Collaborate with the HR team to develop and update benefits policies and procedures, ensuring they align with company goals and regulatory requirements. Implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of benefits administration.
- Issue Resolution: Serve as the point of contact for employee benefits inquiries and issues, providing guidance and resolution in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CEBS, PHR) preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration, with at least 2 years of experience managing benefits through Workday.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Workday, particularly in benefits administration.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and benefits-related software.
- Knowledge & Skills:
- In-depth understanding of employee benefits programs, including health, welfare, and retirement plans.
- Strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulations (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze benefits data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively educate and interact with employees at all levels.
- Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of benefits administration.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, leading benefits projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
