Tanaq Support Services (TSS) delivers professional, scientific, and technical services and information technology (IT) solutions to federal agencies in health, agriculture, technology, and other government services. TSS is a subsidiary of the St. George Tanaq Corporation (SGT), an Alaskan Native Corporation (ANC) committed to serving Federal customers while also giving back to the Tanaq native community and shareholders. About The Role
We are seeking a
Sr. Project Manager to support an IT project for our federal government customer. This role will support the management of all aspects of service delivery to ensure that tasks are delivered as required, in a professional manner, and with high levels of quality and customer satisfaction. The Sr. Project Manager will work in a team that facilitates the integration of Business and IT, guides the prioritization of project and program resources, and supports balanced decision-making. The team assists with the establishment of processes, templates, and tools, to standardize across the agency/mission area. The team also supports data calls and reporting requests, establishes processes to ensure that the appropriate stakeholders are engaged, and ensures responses are approved and submitted within delivery timelines. The team also provides additional functions required to support operations across the portfolio of IT projects, such as establishing and operating a Single Point of Entry (SPOE) for all IT projects, and a community of practice.
Success in this role requires a candidate who can handle a high degree of flexibility, works well in a fast-paced environment, and thrives on dealing with ambiguity, balancing frequent changes in priority, and managing complex relationships with a delivery team and customers in multi-geographical locations across the US. Travel is limited but may be required.
This position is a fully remote role that can be based in Atlanta, GA or anywhere in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the implementation of IT PMO processes and procedures across projects
- Directly manage and coordinate a number of simultaneous projects and activities through all phases of the investment management life cycle
- Coordinate project management logistics across staff and support contractors
- Interpret policies, procedures, goals, and objectives of the organization and align projects accordingly
- Conduct the project in a timely manner ensuring the quality of work products, maintaining financial soundness of the project, managing interactions, and reporting progress and issues
- Review work products and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery
- Consult with the customer to ensure conformity to contractual obligations
- Establish and maintain technical and financial reports to show progress of programs and projects to management and customers
- Perform internal Task Order management tasks including status reporting, time and expense approval, and financial tracking
- Collect and integrate information in a routine and predictable manner to serve as the source for all types of program-level reporting
- Provide guidance, strategic direction and support for the government Project and Program Management Office.
- Interpret policies, procedures, and goals and objectives of the organization, and ensure alignment with Functional area tasks
- Use tools such as JIRA and SharePoint to improve reporting efficiency
- Develop and update deliverables lists, Work Breakdown Structures, integrated master schedules and other program management information weekly or more frequently when changes dictate.
- Collect and integrate information in a routine and predictable manner to serve as the source for all types of program-level reporting.
- Facilitate improved communication across the project team, hunting down information and inputs from the right parties, and establishing collaboration forums such as bi-weekly schedule integration.
Requirements
Required Experience and Skills
- Minimum 10 years of experience providing project/program management and technical direction to multiple complex programs to program personnel
- Direct management experience in supporting services and information management operations and possesses an understanding of information management technologies including electronic imaging
- Experience with the principles of exercising independent judgment, as well as a high level of analytical skill, in solving complex and unusual technical, administrative, and managerial problems
- Experience with, JIRA, Microsoft Project and portfolio management tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with the client with minimal supervision; this may involve identifying new opportunities to bring value to the client without direction
- Ability to navigate complex relationships with numerous government and contractor teams in multiple geographical areas
- Previous experience working with or for Federal Agencies preferred
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience using Agile to implement projects within a federal government environment preferred
- Familiarity with governance and investment management in a federal government environment preferred
- JIRA, Service Now and Confluence experience preferred
- SAFe training and implementation experience preferred
- Prior experience working at a federal government agency strongly preferred
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Education and Training
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience. Master's degree preferred.
- PMP certification highly desired
- CSM and/or SAFe certification highly desired
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May need to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
