Triage Analyst - Anti-Money Laundering (AML)
Company Description: Our client is a leading financial institution that prioritizes integrity, innovation, and excellence. We are currently seeking a dedicated and analytical Triage Analyst to join our Anti-Money Laundering team in Toronto.
Job Description:As a Triage Analyst in our AML department, you will be responsible for evaluating and investigating potential money laundering and terrorist financing risks. Your role is crucial in maintaining our commitment to regulatory compliance and preventing financial crimes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial triage of alerts to evaluate ML/TF risks.
- Perform investigations on cases as part of the controls of our AML and ATF program.
- Understand and apply regulations such as the Proceeds of (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA).
- Document recommendations regarding account retention and/or regulatory reporting obligations.
- Provide trend analysis and reporting of AML/TF findings to Management.
- Manage workload to meet service level agreements for productivity and quality.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to other team members.
- Stay informed on emerging issues, trends, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience in AML with a focus on Enhanced Due Diligence and investigations.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to organize large amounts of data.
- Proficient research, internet, and investigative skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Sound judgement in decision-making.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Familiarity with Agile and traditional Waterfall SDLC methodologies is an asset.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Law, Criminology, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in AML operations, preferably in a banking or financial services environment
