The Assistant Project Manager oversees and manages the work of our mechanical construction projects throughout the Southern Connecticut area. We offer a competitive compensation structure from $55k-65k + Incredible benefits!
What You Will Be Doing
- Understanding commercial construction logistics, labor, material, and equipment handling.
- Ability to read and understand plans and specifications and translate the information to operational realities.
- Understanding of basic business practices, and ability to read and understand construction-related accounting reports.
- Facilitate the installation of mechanical systems.
- Coordinating labor with superintendents, job site foremen, and clients.
- Evaluating quotations.
- Selecting and managing sub-contractors.
- Equipment selection, purchase orders, RFIs, submittals and change orders.
What You Need for this Position
At least 1-3 years of experience (CM firm, Co-op, or internship) and knowledge of all phases of construction management including:
- History of assisting on the management HVAC and Mechanical Construction projects in the Connecticut Market
- Provide clear and articulate direction to team-members
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Experience with pre-construction, estimating RFIs, change orders, and submittals
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Strong administrative skills--the ability to maintain clear notes, keep organized records and time-management
- Knowledge of Procore, Bluebeam, P6, MS Office, and other construction-related software preferred
