Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance & Sustainability Engineer to work as part of a team and with our ODM/JDM partners and component suppliers to ensure Extreme products meet international environmental regulations. Areas of responsibility include RoHS REACH, WEEE, Conflict Minerals, Energy Efficiency, Battery regulations, TSCA, Product Carbon Footprint Calculation, Environmental Lifecycle Impact Assessment, etc. In this position you will hold meetings with suppliers and compliance providers. Review ECO’s and MCO’s to ensure changes made remain in compliance with regulations. You will review suppler declarations to ensure compliance and generate Environmental declarations for Extreme’s products. You will be responsible for filing regular reports for WEEE and Conflict Mineral Compliance. If you are a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills, detail oriented and are experienced as an Environmental Compliance Engineer in an Electronics Manufacturing (OEM, ODM or Contract Manufacturing) company and are extremely effective in driving change, then this job is for you.
Responsibilities
-Support the disclosure and reporting to various CSR programs such as SBTi, CDP, RBA, EcoVadis.

Design for Energy Efficiency & Consumption (EPEAT, EnergyStar, 80PLUS)
Design for Disassembly/Repair/Reuse
Design for Material Efficiency. Recyclability and recycled material content.
Product Lifecycle Analysis & Carbon Footprinting (ISO14040, ISO1467)
-Review, track, and archive suppliers’ declarations
-Generate Reports and Compliance Declarations
-Interface between Extreme and WEEE Compliance providers
-Track international compliance regulations and drive advanced change to Extreme’s products to meet or exceed all standards requirements.
-Drive product sustainability initiatives on new product designs and existing products; recyclability, recycled content, energy efficiency, etc..
-Review and approve all product changes to ensure continued compliance.
-Manage policies and procedures on e-waste takeback programs including reporting of waste streams including E-Waste and responsible recycling practices.
Specific Knowledge/Skills
-Qualified candidate will have BSME, 7-10 years’ experience electronic product environmental compliance
-Initiative, superior problem-solving skills, results oriented, good decision maker, excellent analytically, extremely well organized, assertive, and a team player with situational sensibility.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook) and able to manipulate data into useful information.
-Detailed understanding international environmental and social regulations.
-Experience in project management.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with exceptional analytical skills allowing for effective cross-functional interactions.
