Overview
Serve as an analytics partner to designated business areas, by understanding and aligning organizational and business strategy with the enterprise data and analytics (D&A) strategy. Formulate partnerships throughout the organization bridging technical expertise with the operational expertise of business areas to deliver value-added consulting and integrated solutions that reflect Navy Federal's overall goals, strategies, mission, vision, and culture.
Responsibilities
- Partner with department level leadership, users, and technical support teams (ISD, ED&A, etc.) to engage in data landscape review and custom solution developments with assigned Business Unit
- Provide consulting expertise and guidance for stakeholders from conceptualization to implementation for data analysis, architecture and technology needs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Business Unit partners and ISD management to ensure that IT service delivery is in alignment with business needs
- Communicate regularly with Business Unit partners to gauge the alignment of IT services with business goals, organizational needs, approach and cooperation between ancillary teams
- Act as an analytics translator between business data consumers to drive business outcomes with sound, data-driven recommendations
- Work collaboratively with senior and executive business stakeholders to identify, define, & prioritize opportunities for data solutions to improve & enhance business processes
- Provide expertise and translate the business needs to design; conceptualize, develop, and support tools, techniques, metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualization
- Explain complex analytical concepts & outcomes in simple language, connecting the dots between these and how they can be leveraged in pursuit of enterprise strategic objectives
- Evangelize analytic standards and best practices
- Be a D&A thought leader for the enterprise by keeping current on trends & advances in D&A technologies and approaches, and sharing findings to increase analytics teams' abilities to deliver strategic value
- Operate in a key role with Business Unit partners, working with leaders and engaging in planning and strategy meetings to ensure business needs translate to the enterprise D&A strategy
- Understand the vision, purpose, and strategy of the business and how this creates and aligns with the enterprise D&A strategy
- Drive executional excellence and department level change management to broad based initiatives
- Interpret, guide and influence Business Unit partners by assisting with the interpretation and understanding of the enterprise data landscape
- Translate analytics solutions to Business Unit partners to ensure its actionable and business can drive value utilizing those capabilities
- Recognize potential issues and risks during the analytics project implementation and suggest mitigation strategies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of enterprise analytic landscape and best practices
- Extensive experience in cross-functional areas and leading cross-functional organizational programs
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and align stakeholders with competing interests
- Ability to translate business strategy into D&A strategy, programs, and initiatives, then lead the execution of the programs
- Proven experience and desire to serve in a consultative capacity to business leaders, shaping strategy, goals, and alignment
- Ability to identify new opportunities where D&A can add value and develop associated plans to incorporate ideas into the business
- Ability to analyze and interpret business metrics and analytics to development action plans and ensure successful implementation
- Familiarity with change management and organizational development strategies to influence and assist organizational change initiatives
- Self-starter, intellectuality curious; comfortable in pushing the conventional thinking to drive change by building relationships
- Working knowledge of cloud platform
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Moderate skills in descriptive and predictive analytics, and extrapolating data; experience building analytics-focused deliverables (models, reports or dashboards) in a production environment
- Advanced problem solving, critical thinking, able to identify root cause / central question, identify variables and considerations
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
Desired Qualification(s)
- Knowledge of Apache Spark, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, Azure ML (Machine Learning), Hadoop, Hive (Apache), Informatica, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Databricks, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft SQL Server, MS Office Products Operation Data Integration (OLTP) and Python
- Advanced knowledge of Navy Federal Credit Union instructions, operations and objectives
- Master's Degree in a related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience
