About the Role: Our client is looking for a seasoned Analytics Engineer to join our data product team and help drive our core vision. Our mission is to develop products that integrate multiple public and proprietary data sources to monitor economic trends and consumer behavior in near-real time. These products provide critical insights for data-driven decisions in areas like investment strategies, competitive intelligence, and economic policies across various industries.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of derivative data products as a senior member of the product team.
- Manage the entire process of planning and releasing customer-facing datasets, available through the Snowflake Marketplace.
- Engage with customers regularly to shape our product roadmap and gather feedback on existing data products.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to support go-to-market (GTM) strategies, including communicating customer use cases and assisting with demos.
- Utilize a variety of data sources to create derived data products that address business questions, developing data pipelines using SQL and Python in dbt.
Qualifications:
- Over 4 years of experience in analytics engineering, data science, or other highly analytical, data-focused roles.
- Commercially-minded and pragmatic, with a strong interest in the core development of data products.
- Proficient in SQL and dbt within a cloud data warehouse environment (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift). Experience with Python (or R) is highly desirable.
- Skilled in working with multiple external datasets, including cleaning, merging, and manipulating data. Experience with public data sources (e.g., US Census, ACS Survey) is a significant advantage.
- Passionate about coding and applying critical thinking to solve real-world business problems across various industries.
- Naturally curious, with a drive to understand the “why” behind data and a keen eye for identifying potential data quality issues.
