Greenspring Media is looking for an exceptional wordsmith and eagle-eye copy editor to join its Group Tour Magazine team as Managing Editor. Position Responsibilities
- Research & write quality, on-target feature articles and departments/columns as assigned by Editor
- Work with advertisers and sales executives to produce special section or branded editorial copy
- Assist Editor with editorial calendar planning and issue-by-issue editorial ideation for each publication and enews/web content
- Serve as primary “keeper” of the production schedules, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Serve as content director for custom publications aligned with Group Tour
- Edit in-house and freelance copy both in raw copy and page layout form
- Assist with page proofing & corrections in InDesign
- Work collaboratively with Editor to adhere to copy and production deadlines for all custom publications.
- Stay abreast of group tour industry trends, statistics, people and association happenings
- Continual improvement of editing and writing skills
- Serve as Group Tour brand ambassador on FAM trips, industry events, and trade shows (requires some travel)
- Other duties that may be assigned by Editor: tracking and coding freelance invoices, social media posting on behalf of the brand and/or clients, research and prospecting for new editorial ideas, competitive analysis of competing publications in the market
- Contribute regularly to all digital and print publications owned by Greenspring Media as workload allows
