The Manager of Consumer Insights for Distinctive Brands is a key and strategic role responsible for driving growth across two critical categories: Soup and Broth. This role focuses on iconic brands such as Pacific and Rao’s. The position requires thought leadership, leveraging deep human insights, mastery of methodologies, insatiable curiosity, empathy, and commitment to providing solutions that connect real people through the food they love.
Key responsibilities include conducting thorough research to discover actionable insights that illuminate possibilities. This role entails not only facilitating research but also taking action and integrating the insights found within the business and its priorities. By connecting multiple sources of data and insights, the aim is to paint a comprehensive picture. Inspiring action through empathy, storytelling, and clear solutions that prioritize real people is key. Integration with business priorities, processes, the Insights team, and multifunctional partners is crucial. The focus is on discovering and driving insights that deliver the Distinctive Brands vision and align with the business's Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic business partner for the Marketing team by translating business challenges into actionable inquiries, drawing insights from diverse data sources to drive business understanding.
- Lead and direct key brand qualitative and quantitative research studies across the Distinctive Brands team.
- Lead and prioritize every conversation with a consumer-centric approach, fostering a consumer-first mentality throughout the organization and among peers.
- Continuously monitor the market research landscape to ensure the Distinctive Brands team remains at the forefront of industry practices.
- Execute and mine data from various sources to deliver insights that support strategic opportunities in the Soup and Broth categories.
- Support business decisions by synthesizing data and insights from various sources to paint a comprehensive picture.
- Collaborate with the Insights team and cross-functional partners to ensure integration and alignment of business priorities and processes.
- Drive category and brand growth across the new Distinctive Brands portfolio by providing insights into meeting evolving consumer and shopper needs with innovation, renovation and communications activation.
Qualifications
- BA degree required. Master’s degree (MBA) strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years previous CPG Insights experience.
- Consumer and shopper-led mentality.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data sets.
- High learning and people agility.
- Proven expertise in driving impact from primary and secondary research.
- Experience generating shopper insights from syndicated scan data panels such as Circana and Nielsen.
- Strong foundation in executing and data mining qualitative and quantitative custom research.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data and insights to non-technical stakeholders.
The targeted budget for this position is $100 - $115K per year. This compensation budget range may be adjusted at any time at the discretion of the company.
