Part-Time Bookkeeper for South Bay Startup

Compensation: $40 - $55 per hour depending upon experience
Hours: 30-40 hours per month, flexible hours

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and extremely detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage our financial records. This part-time position offers a high degree of flexibility, allowing you to work remotely on Pacific Time hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR): Manage all billing, invoicing, and payment processing.
- Payroll Management: Oversee payroll, including timesheet management, ensuring accuracy in project and client-specific billing.
- Financial Reporting: Generate and review financial reports to assist in decision-making.
- Vendor Communications: Handle all vendor-related inquiries and maintain positive relationships.
- Internal Communications: Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Cost Proposals/Customer Quote Preparation: Work with Executives to prepare, iterate, and manage quotes/cost proposals for clients, including detailed estimates for labor and manufacturing costs.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial practices comply with California law and company policies.
- Assist with the monthly closing process by reviewing and reconciling payroll-related general ledger accounts as needed
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience, with a strong preference for experience in a startup environment.
- Proficiency: Solid understanding of payroll fundamentals, expertise with MS Excel and Google Sheets. Advanced QuickBooks skills are a must.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in managing financial data. Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organization and time-management skills.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, vendors, and clients.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing needs and handle multiple tasks with ease.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proposal Experience: Familiarity with preparing client quotes and cost proposals, particularly in pulling together information for labor, project hours, and manufacturing costs.
- Familiarity with Billable Hours: Experience managing and billing hours per project and per client.
